Day 2 – Yogyakarta

Arrive in Yogyakarta

Welcome to Yogyakarta, a tropical paradise. Upon arriving at Yogyakarta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver, who will escort you to your hotel in Yogyakarta. There, you can unwind and relax after your flight, preparing for your upcoming adventures in the city.

Nestled on the island of Java, Yogyakarta, affectionately known as “Jogja,” is a city that seamlessly blends rich cultural heritage with modern vibrancy. As the cultural heart of Java, it offers an array of experiences, from exploring ancient temples like Borobudur and Prambanan to strolling down the lively Malioboro Street. Visitors can immerse themselves in the city’s traditional arts, sample delicious local cuisine, and discover the warm hospitality of its people. Whether you’re drawn by its historical depth, educational prestige, or dynamic arts scene, Yogyakarta promises an unforgettable adventure.

Day 3 – Yogyakarta

Your journey through Java begins with a visit to the traditional Candirejo village. You’ll travel by “andong,” a traditional horse-drawn cart, immersing yourself in the village’s natural beauty and vibrant community tourism. Candirejo is a symbol of Javanese culture, offering a unique opportunity to engage in daily life activities with the locals and experience the village’s authentic atmosphere. Next, you’ll explore the magnificent Borobudur Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This sprawling 2,500 m² Buddhist temple, renowned for its exceptional architecture, rises over five levels, offering breathtaking views. Following this, you’ll visit Pawon Temple, built from volcanic stones and showcasing a blend of Javanese, Hindu, and Indian art, and the exquisite Mendut Temple and Monastery. All the temples you visit today were built in a straight line, facilitating pilgrimage during the full moon, adding a spiritual dimension to your exploration.

Day 4 – Yogyakarta

Enjoy a leisurely morning at your own pace. At noon, your driver will pick you up for a visit to Prambanan, the most beautiful Hindu temple in Indonesia, dating back to the 9th century. You’ll be awed by its impressive architecture and grandeur. In the evening, you’ll attend a traditional Ramayana dance performance, a dramatic retelling of the Hindu epic story of Rama, a legendary king and divine incarnation. This vibrant outdoor show takes place in an enchanting atmosphere with the Prambanan Temple as a stunning backdrop. The ballet, featuring a hundred dancers, combines dance, music, theater, and pyrotechnics, creating a mesmerizing spectacle. You’ll be captivated by the colorful costumes and the rhythmic sounds of the gamelan orchestra. The performance lasts about two hours. After the show, you’ll return to your hotel.

Day 5 – Yogyakarta

Your journey through Java continues with a visit to the Kraton of Yogyakarta. This expansive palace complex, meticulously designed to represent the Javanese cosmos, stands as a magnificent example of traditional Javanese architecture. Next, you’ll explore the superb and enigmatic Taman Sari Water Castle, followed by a visit to a Batik house, where you’ll discover the intricate technique of fabric printing.

Afterward, you’ll head to Kota Gede, a charming neighborhood characterized by its labyrinth of narrow streets, lined with quaint traditional goldsmith shops and mosaic houses that once belonged to royal aristocrats and merchants. Kota Gede is perfect for a leisurely stroll, offering a unique glimpse into the area’s rich history and culture.

Day 6 – Yogyakarta → Surabaya

This morning, your driver will pick you up from the hotel and transport you to the airport for your flight to East Java. Upon arrival in Surabaya, you will be warmly welcomed by our driver, who will then escort you directly to your hotel.

Day 7 – Surabaya → Kumai, Borneo

The following morning, your driver will take you back to the airport for your flight to Borneo. Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you’ll be met by our tour guide and transferred directly to Kumai. From there, you’ll board a boat and cruise along the Kumai River for approximately 15 minutes, before continuing up the Sekonyer River to reach the National Park. Lunch will be served on board by our chef. At 4:30 PM, you’ll embark on a river cruise to observe the unique Proboscis monkeys, an endemic species found only in Borneo. Following this, you’ll be transferred to Rimba Lodge for check-in. Enjoy dinner on board before settling in for the night at Rimba Lodge.

Day 8 – Kumai, Borneo

After breakfast, embark on a morning cruise up the river to observe the vibrant wildlife as they start their day. Next, visit the FNPF Camp for a tree-planting activity, where you can contribute to the Carbon Offset program by planting a tree. Each tree costs IDR 50,000, and you will have the opportunity to name it in your honor. Contributions are flexible based on your budget.

Following this, return to the houseboat and continue your journey to Camp Leakey, with lunch served on board. Upon arrival at Camp Leakey, visit the Information Center (IC) to learn about the pioneering work of Dr. Birute Galdikas, who has been studying orangutans here since 1971. Spend time exploring the center until 2:00 PM, then trek into the forest to witness the orangutan feeding. Enjoy the experience until 4:00 PM, after which you’ll return to the boat and cruise back down the river. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Rimba Lodge.

Day 9 – Kumai, Borneo

After breakfast, you’ll board a boat to reach Pondok Tanggui, the second rehabilitation centre for orangutans. Arrive in time for the 9:00 AM orangutan feeding, where you can enjoy observing and photographing these remarkable creatures. At 10:00 AM, return to the houseboat and continue your journey down the river to Tanjung Harapan village to explore Malayan settlement activities in the afternoon.

Lunch will be served on board. Afterward, cross to Tanjung Harapan Camp for the final orangutan feeding session at 3:00 PM, and spend time enjoying the experience until 4:00 PM. Then, return to the boat for the journey back to Rimba Lodge. Dinner will be served on board, followed by an overnight stay at Rimba Lodge.

Day 10 – Kumai, Borneo → Surabaya

After breakfast, you’ll board a boat to Kumai and then transfer to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your flight to Surabaya. Upon arrival in Surabaya, you will be met and transferred directly to your hotel.

Day 11 – Surabaya → Labuan Bajo

Early in the morning, check out of the hotel and catch your flight to Flores Island. Upon arrival in Labuan Bajo, you will be warmly welcomed by our local representative and transferred directly to your hotel.

Day 12 – Labuan Bajo → Komodo Island Cruise

In the morning you will be picked up at the Hotel. Then transfer to Labuan Bajo Harbor to go to Komodo Island.

The journey across blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small islands will take approximately 4 hours. On your visit to Komodo Island, you will go on a walk (1 ½ hours) with a local forest ranger to look for Komodo dragons. During your visit you can also see wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various types of tropical birds such as cockatoos. Continue to Pink Beach. It’s time to discover the beautiful underwater world of these rich waters (snorkel and fins provided). Next to Rinca Island.

Lunch on board. Then for an hour’s walk you will be led by a local ranger to see Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. Overnight on board.

Day 13 – Komodo Island Cruise → Sanur

The day begins with a visit to Taka Makassar, an enchanting crescent-shaped sandbar that rises from the sea, surrounded by crystal-clear waters and pristine white sand. After exploring this stunning island, you’ll head to renowned snorkelling spots at Manta Point, Siaba, and Kanawa, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant underwater world of the Komodo Archipelago. Following this exceptional experience, your boat will return you to Labuan Bajo. At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred to the airport to catch your flight. Upon arrival at Denpasar Airport, your driver will warmly greet you and escort you to your accommodation in Sanur.

Day 14 – Sanur

This morning, enjoy some well-deserved rest as you start your day in Indonesia. In the afternoon, your guide will take you to Uluwatu Temple, perched dramatically on a cliff 80 meters above the ocean on Bali’s southern coast. This sacred site, believed by the Balinese to protect the island from the winds, is home to playful monkeys and is surrounded by the Alas Kekeran, or “forbidden forest,” rich in local wildlife. The temple’s name, Uluwatu, translates to “the head and the stone,” reflecting its location above the coral reef. Following your visit, you’ll head to Padang Padang Beach, a secluded paradise accessible via a narrow coral path. Here, you’ll discover turquoise waters, white sand, and the soothing sounds of the waves, a true escape into a piece of tropical heaven

Day 15 – Sanur → Ubud

After breakfast, you’ll head to Tanah Lot Temple, one of Bali’s six main temples. Perched on a small rocky islet, this sacred site is dedicated to the sea gods and is renowned for its stunning coastal views, making it a favorite for pilgrims, tourists, and photographers alike. Next, you’ll visit Taman Ayun Temple in the village of Mengwi. Once the royal temple of the Mengwi dynasty, it is the second largest Balinese temple after Besakih. The serene atmosphere here is enhanced by the terraced gardens and lush green hills that surround the temple. Following your visit, you’ll arrive in Ubud and check in to your accommodation.
