Hotel das Cataratas

Rainforest thrills meet timeless luxury.

Restored to its original 1950s charm, the hotel’s hacienda-style exterior is matched by its warm, inviting interior design.

Step outside and explore the sprawling, sculpted grounds. Spot a kaleidoscopic array of tropical flowers as howler monkeys call in the distance. Nestled in the center is an elegantly designed pool. Flanked by orchids, it’s the perfect spot for a refreshing dip after a day full of adventure.

Hotel das Cataratas is a luxurious, colonial-style hotel located within Brazil’s Iguazu National Park, offering exclusive access to the stunning Iguazu Falls. Known for its elegant design, top-tier service, and stunning views, it provides a unique, tranquil stay surrounded by lush rainforest.

We don’t usually suggest chain hotels but the Belmond Cataratas is a worthy exception. It sits right opposite the most beautiful stretch of the waterfalls. What’s more, only by staying here can you see the falls after the park gates close and before they open – having them to yourself and a handful of fellow guests at sunset, dawn and under the light of the full moon. This is the only hotel inside the national park. Rooms, restaurants and facilities are romantic-five star, the hotel has gorgeous wildlife-filled gardens and a lovely pool but with a location this outstanding, even a backpacker hostel could justify the Belmond’s high room rate.
