Day 3 – Luang Prabang
Your adventure begins early as our guide invites you to witness a serene and sacred ritual—the monks leaving their pagodas at dawn to receive offerings of food from the residents of Luang Prabang. This peaceful ceremony offers a profound insight into the spiritual heart of the Lao people. Afterward, visit the lively morning market before returning to your hotel for a hearty breakfast.
Following breakfast, delve into the city’s rich heritage, starting with Wat Visoun, the holiest temple in Luang Prabang, then continue to Wat That, where the ashes of King Sisavang Vong rest inside its grand stupa. Next, visit the Former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, to learn about the country’s royal history.
Continue your exploration with a visit to Wat Xieng Thong, known as the Temple of the Golden City, one of the most revered and visually stunning temples in the region.
In the afternoon, enjoy a bit of exercise with a climb up the 328 steps of Mount Phousi. At the summit, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the city and its surrounding landscape, especially as the sun begins to set. On your way back down, explore the nearby evening hill tribe market before returning to your hotel to relax.

Day 4 – Luang Prabang
Today you will venture to Xangkhong Village, a vibrant hub of traditional craftsmanship, where silk weaving and Saa paper production are at the heart of the community. Here, local artisans preserve time-honoured techniques of weaving and dyeing, welcoming visitors into their homes to witness the intricate process up close. Beyond silk, a charming papermaking facility demonstrates the creation of handmade paper, which is transformed into beautiful carry bags and gift boxes.
Next, we’ll drive you through the picturesque Luang Prabang countryside to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfalls. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of the falls and the surrounding natural landscape, or for those feeling adventurous, take a hike to the top of the falls for spectacular views over the dense jungle below.
On the way back, we’ll stop at a Hmong village, where you can gain a deeper understanding of the daily life and customs of the Hmong people.
Before returning to your hotel, we’ll visit the Living Craft Centre, a showcase of traditional Lao arts and crafts, where you can see skilled artisans at work.

Day 5 – Luang Prabang → Vang Vieng
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to Luang Prabang Railway Station for your journey south to Vang Vieng (10:31-11:34), a charming town nestled between Vientiane and Luang Prabang, renowned for its breathtaking limestone karst landscapes.
Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Later, visit Blue Lagoon 2, a serene natural haven where you can unwind by the refreshing waters.
In the late afternoon, we’ll take you on a traditional long-tail boat ride along the Nam Song River. As you glide through the tranquil waters, enjoy the stunning scenery and observe the local life of Vang Vieng, all while the sun sets over this picturesque region.

Day 6 – Vang Vieng
Departing from Vang Vieng, we head north to the intriguing Tham Xang (Elephant Cave), named after its distinctive limestone formation that resembles an elephant. Located along the banks of the Nam Song River, this cave marks the start of an exciting adventure.
Next, we embark on a scenic trek to a traditional Hmong village, passing through lush rice paddies and vibrant vegetable gardens, offering you an authentic glimpse into the daily life of the local community.
For a peaceful conclusion to the day, we’ll paddle back to Vang Vieng by kayak, gliding gently along the Nam Song River with the stunning limestone mountains as a breathtaking backdrop.

(Optional) Early in the morning, we’ll embark on a hike to Namxay Viewpoint, one of the best vantage points in Vang Vieng. The 20-30 minute climb rewards you with breathtaking views of the jagged limestone cliffs, lush forests, and expansive rice fields. Pause to catch your breath and relax in the hammocks, soaking in the spectacular scenery.
After breakfast, we’ll drive to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos, a peaceful and charming destination just 1.5 hours away by road.
Upon arrival, explore the highlights of this laid-back city, known for its tree-lined boulevards, serene temples, and vibrant markets. Visit the fascinating Wat Xieng Khuan (Buddha Park), an open-air museum filled with an eclectic collection of statues representing both Buddhist and Hindu gods.
Next, continue to Patuxai (Victory Gate), a grand archway inspired by the Arc de Triomphe, but with distinctive Lao architectural motifs.
